The Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) was pleased and honored to celebrate Chinese New Year together with the Sino-Belgian business community after 3 years, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of China to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mr. Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Belgium on January 26, 2023.
The prestigious Africa Palace provided the beautiful backdrop for this event, bringing together 250 people who listened to Chairman Dewit’s optimistic outlook on the future relations between our two countries and the BCECC’s best wishes for the Year of the Rabbit. H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming highlighted in his speech that the general sanitary situation in China has improved, and production and life have basically returned to normal throughout the country. He reiterated that China’s economy is resilient and has great potential, with its long-term positive attributes that haven’t changed, and hopes that Chinese and Belgian entrepreneurs will continue to strengthen their cooperation in 2023 to maintain the stability of the global supply chain. Mr. Leterme hoped for rationality and cautious optimism to return to Belgian-Chinese relations, inspiring the attendees to continue their people-to-people contacts which remain essential to maintaining our strong bilateral basis.
