The Belgian-Chinese business community came together in the evening of 21 April 2022 to celebrate the great performances of our athletes during the Winter Olympic games in Beijing at the beautiful premises of the Radisson Collection Grand Place in Brussels. We were delighted to be surrounded by not only high level guests such as H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Chinese Ambassador, and Mr. Jean-Michel Saive, Chairman of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC), but more than 70 guests from the business community as well as government officials too.
Mr. Cao re-confirmed the importance of bilateral cooperation and mutual respect, and highlighted some important developments in Belgian-Chinese relations, while congratulating our Belgian and Chinese athletes with their achievements. Mr. Saive’s speech focused on his personal experience of the 2022 Games in Beijing, and how he has had a special connection with China for many years, having returned to the country over 40 times.
