On April 20th 2023, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) hosted a hybrid event in partnership with the Institute for China-Europe Studies (ICES), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Brussels Branch. The event focused on the benefits of doing business with Hainan, a Chinese region home to the world’s largest free trade port.

After a brief welcoming speech, three keynote speakers presented a broad overview of Hainan as a province with attractive natural environment and tropical climate, well-connected airlines, and industrial parks, among other assets.

Then, during the panel discussion presenters delved into details of preferential policies for trade, liberal trade and investment policies, remarkable tax breaks, and green initiatives. Hainan is also investing in building infrastructure to attract international talent as the province continues to grow. By the end of the discussion, the audience gained a thorough understanding of the advantages of doing business with Hainan.

After the closing remarks from Ms. Zhuang, General Manager, Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Brussels branch, the members enjoyed a lunch buffet as well as the opportunity to network with fellow members.
