On 7 November 2024, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) hosted an exclusive seminar titled “Belgium, Your Gateway to Success in the Heart of Europe” in collaboration with the Bank of China at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. The event offered a unique opportunity for Chinese businesses to discover the many advantages of engaging with Belgium as a strategic European partner.
Belgium was highlighted as a prime gateway for Chinese companies looking to expand into the European market. The seminar attracted key stakeholders from several industries, including logistics, meat, and chocolate, all of which are major sectors of Belgian export to China. Beyond products, Belgium offers the perfect strategic position within Europe—a gateway that enables Chinese businesses to tap into a vibrant and well-connected European market.
In addition to speeches by representatives of the BCECC, Bank of China, CIIE, the Belgian Embassy and the Belgian Consul General in Shanghai, the seminar featured presentations from several prominent Belgian organizations, including the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the Belgian Meat Office, and CSP Zeebrugge Terminal. Each representative shared valuable insights into the specific business opportunities available in Belgium, underscoring the country’s status as an important logistics and trade hub within Europe.
The event concluded with a vibrant networking session, where business leaders, investors, and government officials had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions.
