The 136th Canton Fair, held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4, concluded successfully with attendance, transactions, and innovation hitting new highs. The success of the event underscored that the fair provides a crucial platform for fostering innovation, facilitating cross-border trade, and strengthening global business relationships.
The 136th edition set a new record for overseas attendance, attracting 253,000 international buyers from 214 countries, marking a 2.8% increase from the previous session. Notably, 60% of attendees came from Belt and Road countries, with significant growth from the Middle East, Europe, the USA, and Canada.
The event also showcased innovation, with over 1.15 million new products, including a large number of eco-friendly and low-carbon items. Digital and sustainable innovations gained attention, especially at the Canton Fair New Collection events. The International Pavilion hosted 730 companies from 49 countries.
The fair’s online platform extended its reach to 450,000 overseas buyers, facilitating digital engagement through 986 live-streaming events and a newly launched app, which attracted 87,000 downloads. Over 860 trade promotion activities were held, and the fair also offered efficient trade services and promoted new business models through its Cross-border E-commerce Zone and Product Design & Trade Promotion Center.
IPR protection was a key focus, with 455 cases of infringement addressed. Looking ahead, preparations are already underway for the 137th Canton Fair in 2025, with the event’s online platform remaining active year-round for continued global business connections. Stay tuned for more updates!
