All eyes on the Chinese Party Congress: What you need to know

09/11/2022
Online

The most important political event of the decade in China started on 16 October: the 20th party congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). During its 100-year existence, the CCP has grown to a 100 million members and put China on the market as a global power.

Some major questions still remain for many European businesses: How do Party Congresses work and why do they matter to us? Who came out on top at the Congress and what does this tell us about the balance of power in Beijing? What did we learn about China’s policy direction over the next five years and beyond, and what are the implications for European businesspeople?
