One-day Workshop: Servicing Chinese Tourists

Chinese outbound tourists are the top source of international tourism expenditure in the world. Chinese travellers spent more than USD 200 billion travelling abroad during more than 136 million trips in 2016 and Europe currently takes the first place on the Chinese traveller’s list of preferred destinations

As China’s outbound tourism market is rapidly growing, Chinese outbound travellers span a broad spectrum of various customer characteristics and expectations during their journey abroad. The biggest question for many European small and medium sized companies is how they can seize this opportunity and work with Chinese tourists beneficially for both sides.

In light of the 2018 EU-China Tourism Year, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce together with the EU SME Centre and the COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute invite you to the one-day workshop on Servicing Chinese Tourists on November 29, 2017 in Brussels.

The workshop led by Prof. Wolfgang Arlt, professor for International Tourism Management, founder and director of COTRI, will give you practical insights on how to find the right approach to Chinese tourists and begin a sustainable and successful engagement with them. It will enable you to adapt tourism and retail products and services, to develop adequate strategies and to facilitate quality assurance. The workshop offers deep insights into the characteristics, expectations, motivations and needs of Chinese travellers, enabling tourism service providers to deliver high quality the Chinese way.
