European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2026: Key Findings and Outlook

2026-09-02
Online

Published annually by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China in partnership with Roland Berger, the Business Confidence Survey (BCS) is one of the leading benchmarks of European business sentiment in China.

Following deteriorating continuously for several years, there are signs in the BCS 2026 that European business confidence in the China market may now be approaching an inflection point, and could even be set to improve should the right policies be implemented.

While many challenges continue to weigh on business confidence, including involution and the slowdown of China’s economy, persistent market access and regulatory barriers and the increasing politicisation of business, the increasingly volatile global environment that has emerged over the past year has given any market the opportunity to demonstrate its strengths as a stable and predictable market. China is well placed to capitalise on this and could do so by taking a shrewd approach to economic reform.

Join the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) on 2 September 2026 at 11:00 CET for a webinar exploring the key findings of the BCS 2026. The webinar will be presented by Mr. Robbie Jarvis, Senior Policy and Communications Manager at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and lead author of the BCS 2026. He will present the survey’s key findings and discuss what they mean for European companies doing business in China.
