The program opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Bernard Dewit, Chairman of the BCECC, followed by a speech from Mr. Huang Xianyue, Secretary of the CPC Nanshan District Committee, Shenzhen. Participants were then introduced to Nanshan District’s dynamic innovation ecosystem through a presentation on the district’s business environment by Mr. Cheng Zhanxing, Executive Deputy Director of the General Office of the CPC Nanshan District Committee (Nanshan District People’s Government).
During the institutional sessions, Mr. Ondřej Dostál, Member of the European Parliament, and Mr. Emmanuel de Beughem, Director of the International Investment Division at hub.brussels, shared their perspectives on international cooperation and investment opportunities. Mr. Lionel Kohn, Senior Investment Project Manager – China Desk at AWEX, presented an overview of Belgium’s business environment, while Mr. Li Xiaoye, General Manager of the Global Service Center, introduced the services available to support international business development.
The event also featured a roadshow session, during which representatives from leading Chinese and European companies presented their activities, technologies, and cooperation ambitions across sectors including telecommunications, energy, robotics, artificial intelligence, healthcare, sustainability, and international trade. A certification ceremony and product demonstrations further highlighted Nanshan’s strengths in innovation and industrial development.
Following the formal programme, participants gathered for a networking dinner, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, establish new connections, and explore future partnerships between Chinese and European stakeholders.
