Workshop “EU-China cross-border investment: The fact behind the myth”

Despite a world economic slowdown, China has continuously remained the top destination for foreign multinational enterprises (MNEs), notably those from Europe. Symmetrically, China’s outward foreign direct investment (FDI) recorded its highest level, especially in international M&As.

Yet, this high-speed growth of EU-China cross-border FDI surprisingly contrasted with a turbulent global economic and financial environment in general and uncertainties of EU-China political and economic relationship in particular. At the company’s level, 56% of the European firms operating in China considered that doing business in China has become more difficult in 2016 as compared to 2015 as the relative proportion was 51% (EUCCC, 2016).

To clarify above paradoxes and controversies, the BCECC is pleased to invite you to the workshop “EU-China cross-border investment: The fact behind the myth” on Tuesday September 6, 2016. The goal is to provide an accurate picture about EU-China cross-border FDI in a number of key industries, such as automotive, telecommunication, healthcare, banking and finance.
