The BCECC reveals economic and trade cooperation prospects between Shenzhen·Luohu, China, and Antwerp, Belgium

To explore more innovation-driven development in the major contributor to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) organized an event titled “China (Shenzhen·Luohu) – Belgium (Antwerp) Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference” on June 11, 2024.

Attendees were treated to a brief introduction to Luohu district, Shenzhen by the District Mayor of the People’s Government of Shenzhen Luohu District, Mr. Zuo Jinping. Afterward, the Vice Mayor for sports, the diamond sector, markets, and fairs of the City of Antwerp, Mr. Peter Wouters, shared his prospects for the future about collaborating with the Luohu District in a wide range of service and financial sectors.  

To deepen the economic and trade exchange, the Director of the Shenzhen Luohu District Development Research Center, Mr. Tan Zhicheng, delivered an overview of the business environment in the Luohu District for potential cooperation. Mr. Stephan Bogaert, the Chief of Cabinet of Mr. Peter Wouters demonstrated the strengths of the diamond sector in Antwerp and Belgium. The event concluded with significant contract signings, heralding a promising future in multiple sectors for both Luohu District, Shenzhen, and Antwerp, Belgium.
