The BCECC hosted a guided visit to Kanaal (Axel Vervoordt Gallery) on May 17th during Antwerp Art Weekend.
Axel Vervoordt Company is a extraordinary family-run Belgian firm active in the international world of art, design, and antiques as of the late 1960s. Located at the headquarters of the company in Wijnegem, the gallery is a brick-and-mortar industrial complex and was converted in collaboration with important Belgian architects into exhibition spaces with permanent art installations and individual atmospheres. The gallery has strong ties with Hong Kong and shows work by well-known artists including Jaffa Lam.
During the visit, participants were able to immerse themselves in the collections, art installations, and antique, as well as engaged in fruitful dialogues about the power of art in bringing people of different cultures together.
