Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC)

Seminar on IPR in China

As a key factor in the competitiveness of your business in the global economy, intellectual property rights are particularly relevant for Belgian SME as they internationalize their activities to China. Whether your business is already operating in China or you are exploring the potential offered by the region, it is important to be aware of how IPR can be valuable to your business.

Therefore, BCECC organized a seminar on the protection of Intellectual Property Rights in China, on October 29, 2015, with the support of the EU China IPR SME Help Desk. Mr. Giovanni Casucci, Current Coordinator of the Commissions “Design” and “Trade Fairs” at CNAC (Italian National Authority for Anti-Counterfeiting), shared his experience and provided the participants with an overview of the latest development of IPR in China. IP litigator in Italy since 1992, Mr. Casucci is the author of several publications on IP Rights and is active in several training courses on IP, notably within the EU-China Trade Project. After the presentation of Mr. Giovanni Casucci, Mr. Dusan Oblak, former Regional Director Asia of Schréder shared his experience of dealing with IPR issues in China.

After the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to meet and discuss their problems with our experts during a networking drink.
