In 2013, Brussels and Beijing launched the EU-China 2020 Strategic Agenda for Cooperation, an ambitious goal-setting document covering a wide range of initiatives in the fields of ‘peace and security’, ‘prosperity’, ‘sustainable development’, and ‘people-to-people exchanges’.
As the 2020 deadline approaches, hurdles and tensions remaining in both bilateral ties and at global level certainly complicate the achievement of many of the goals set in the Agenda. Nevertheless, the EU and China still could be facing an unprecedented opportunity to step up their cooperation.
The Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC), the European Economic and Social Committee and the EU-China Research Centre of College of Europe are pleased to invite you to the International Conference ‘EU-China 2020 Strategic Agenda for Cooperation’ on May 13, 2019 in Brussels, in presence of H.E. Zhang Ming, Head of the Chinese Mission to the European Union.
This conference brings together a wide range of top-level international academics, practitioners and policymakers to set the stage for a crucial stocktaking exercice, aimed at assessing the scale and scope of both progress and problems in telations between the EU and China, as well as their mutual perception.
