Information session on the New Belgium-China income tax treaty

The BCECC organized an information session on the New Belgium-China income tax treaty on March 12, 2014 in Brussels. The double taxation treaty is currently one of China’s most beneficial treaties, putting Belgium on a par with Hong Kong or Singapore for channeling outside investment into China. On October 7, 2009 a new double tax treaty and protocol on double taxation was signed by Belgium and China. Finally, with the completion of the notification procedure between both countries and, as confirmed on the site of the Ministry of Finance, the new tax treaty entered into force on the 29th of December 2013.

During the session Mr. Marc De Mil, International Tax Expert of Federal Public Service Finance has highlighted certain key features of the New Treaty and elaborate on its most important aspects.
