From November 17 to November 22, 2019, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) joined the biggest ever Belgian Princely Mission to Beijing and Shanghai. The Belgian Economic Mission to China was presided by HRH Princess Astrid and counted more than 630 participants from all parts of Belgium.
The BCECC had the pleasure to invite its network to their Summer Barbecue on 29 August 2019 in Sint-Katelijne-Waver in presence of H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Shenzhen is an important transportation hub in the Asia-Pacific region under the Belt and Road Initiative. The so-called ‘Silicon Delta’ holds the headquarters of many international companies. The BCECC organized the Belgium – China (Shenzhen) Economic & Cooperation Conference on November 26, 2019.
The BCECC organized the China Customs Event on 24 October 2019. Mr. Weijian (First Secretary Customs of the Mission of P.R. China to the EU) and Mrs. Bedoyan (Belgian Customs Attaché in Beijing) explained some of the customs issues they have encountered. Guests were also able to attend a B2B networking drink. Shenzhen is an active region and raises a lot of interest abroad. This can be reflected by the visit of the Shenzhen Yantian District People’s Government. On this occasion, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) organized the China (Shenzhen Yantian) – Belgium Trade & Technology Exchange Conference on December 10, 2019.
On October 23, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) received a business delegation from Chengdu for the Belgium-China (Chengdu) B2B Matchmaking Event. The participants enjoyed a presentation in Chinese and English about opportunities in Flanders and Chengdu, and had the opportunity to find potential business partners during some B2B networking.
The BCECC and BNP Paribas Fortis kicked off the theme week for ‘Belgium & China: A smart partnership. Challenges & Opportunities’ on 18 November 2019 in Beijing. More than 200 guests heard about the current situation of doing business with China and the near future of business from important players in the Belgian and Chinese economy.
In light of the Chinese New Year of the Rat, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) organized its annual cocktail reception on February 5, 2020. Our New Year’s Reception took place in the beautiful premises of the Bozar in Brussels. We welcomed over 250 guests, including H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of P.R. China to Belgium.
The BCECC organized a company visit to Lapauw International NV on March 3, 2020, in the presence of H.E. Cao Zhongming. Participants visited the warehouse to learn more about the company’s production. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to attend a networking drink.
On December 5, 2019, the BCECC organized a company visit to Neuhaus. The participants had the opportunity to learn about the fabrication of pralines and to taste a few during the visit of the factory. They also learned about the creation and evolution of Neuhaus’ Chinese market during the inspiring speech of Mr. Philip Geeraert.
The Young Professionals Networking Night on 17 October 2019 was attended by more than 120 young professionals from 10 local and international Chambers of Commerce. Aside from networking opportunities, guests were also able to try some exciting new technologies at the Microsoft Center.
The BCECC and BNP Paribas Fortis organized the Preparatory Seminar to the Princely Mission to China on 1 October 2019 in Brussels. Participants could learn everything on the preparation for the mission and doing business with Chinese partners.
