Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC)

EU-China Trade Platform

China and the EU have a buoyant trade relationship worth some €1 billion a day or €434 billion in 2012. The EU is now China’s biggest export market and China is the EU’s second biggest export destination after the US. But other aspects of the relationship, including two-way investment flows are still modest in scale. Trade disputes such as the recent one on Chinese exports of solar panels often cast a pall over relations. As such, wider-ranging links might lessen misunderstandings and facilitate their resolution.

On September 18, 2014 we have the pleasure to invite Mr. Zhang Lirong, Minister of the Chinese mission to the EU and Mr. Peter Berz, Head of Unit of the Unit Trade Relations with the Far East to give their point of view about EU-China trade relations.
