China has been creating a more transparent and predictable tax environment by developing its advance tax ruling (ATR) system. One of the milestones in this process was the Advanced Tax Ruling in Shanghai, which extends to all enterprises within Shanghai, regardless of size.

China’s Golden Tax System (GTS) is a digital system that uses the online network of tax authorities to closely control VAT special invoices, monitor the corporate VAT tax status, and ensure taxpayers’ compliance. It aims to increase the transparency of businesses operating in China.

What should you know about China’s advance tax ruling system and Golden Tax System? How can your company be compliant, and what will be the consequences for your business in China?
