The Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) is the leading Belgian business association for companies engaged in doing business in or with China. We are a non-profit organization established in the 1980s following China’s open-door policy and we are located in Brussels, the heart of Europe.

The Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) and BDO Belgium are pleased to invite you to “Beyond the Horizon: The Belgian Maritime Sector in a Changing World,” on Thursday, 4 June 2026 at 15:30 CET.

Belgium’s maritime sector is at a turning point. Shifting trade routes, geopolitical tensions, and growing trade with China are reshaping the global landscape. This event will explore how these developments impact Belgium’s role as a key European gateway and what they mean for future growth.

Expert speakers Prof. Dr. Indra Vonck (BDO) and Mr. Ruben Declercq (ICO Terminals) will share insights on maritime strategy, port development, and terminal operations. We end the day with an exclusive guided tour at the ICO Terminals providing some behind-the-scenes insights on the port handling and storage of RoRO cargo at the terminal in Zeebrugge.

Join us to engage with key stakeholders and gain valuable perspectives on the future of maritime cooperation between Belgium and China.
