On April 21, the BCECC hosted the event “Discover Beijing’s Center of Technological Innovation – Haidian District Promotional Event” in Brussels, welcoming around 69 participants from the Belgian and Chinese business communities, public institutions, and innovation sectors. The event provided a valuable platform to explore cooperation opportunities in technology, innovation, and investment between Belgium and China.
The program opened with remarks by Mr. Bernard Dewit, Chairman of the BCECC, and Mr. Zhang Ge, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Haidian District Committee. This was followed by an introduction to Haidian District by Ms. Wang Yuxia, Mr. Chen Peiyu, and Mr. Li Guowei, who shared insights into the district’s innovation ecosystem, development strategy, and future vision.
In the keynote session, Mr. Emmanuel de Beughem, Mr. Frederik Tibau, Ms. Virginie De Brabandt, and Mr. Xu Lin offered valuable perspectives on investment, innovation, and opportunities for collaboration between Belgian and Chinese stakeholders. The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Beijing Zhongguancun Science City Innovation Development Co., Ltd. and the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC), the launch ceremony of the Zhongguancun Science City Overseas Innovation Acceleration Hub (Brussels), and an enterprise roadshow by Ms. Zhao Yuli, CSO of Beijing Galbot Co., Ltd., and Mr. Ding Zhiguo, Executive President of Beijing ROBINT Technology Co., Ltd.
Following the formal program, participants gathered for a group photo and a networking lunch, offering an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and build new connections in a professional and forward-looking setting.
