In today’s global business environment, speaking Mandarin is more than just a skill—it’s a competitive edge. Whether you’re negotiating deals, forming strategic partnerships, or handling day-to-day business in China, mastering the language opens the door to stronger relationships and long-term success.

Building on the success of previous editions since 2020, the BCECC and the Confucius Institute in Leuven (CIL) are launching a new series of Online Business Chinese Courses starting in January 2026.

Designed for professionals at all levels, these weekly online classes are led by experienced instructors with over 20 years of teaching expertise, making it easy to enhance your skills without disrupting your busy schedule.

Level A:

Target group: absolute beginners who want to start from scratch or have a basic knowledge

  • Learn around 150-200 basic words on 10 topics, such as greeting people, introducing yourself and others, your nationality, numbers, dates and time, size of companies, etc. 
  • Discover how the systems of pinyin (Chinese phonetic symbols) and Hanzi (Chinese characters) work
  • Grasp some basic Chinese grammar rules

On Tuesdays of January 13, January 20, January 27, February 3, February 24, March 3, March 10, March 17, March 24 and March 31 from 12:00 to 13:30 CET

Level B:

Target group: people who are familiar with about 100 to 150 basic words and the pinyin system, aiming to expand their business vocabulary and improve their speaking skills

  • Learn around 150-200 high-frequency words on topics such as locations, dates and time, greetings and small talk, ongoing activities, shopping, past events, etc.
  • Improve your pronunciation
  • Grasp more grammar rules

On Wednesdays of January 14, January 21, January 28, February 4, February 25, March 4, March 11, March 18, March 25, April 1 from 12:00 CET to 13:30 CET

Level C:

Target group: people who are familiar with about 250 to 300 basic words and the pinyin system, aiming to expand their business vocabulary and improve their speaking skills
 

  • Learn around 150-200 high-frequency words on topics such as ongoing activities, shopping, ordering food, work routine and work activities, skills, transportation means, weather, seasons, climates, etc.
  • Improve your pronunciation
  • Grasp more grammar rules

On Thursdays of January 15, January 22, January 29, February 5, February 26, March 5, March 12, March 19 , March 26, April 2 from 12:00 CET to 13:30 CET
