Roundtable on ‘Supporting Women’s entrepreneurship in China and in the EU’


The Confucius Institute at VUB, in cooperation with Track2Asia and with the support of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) is pleased to invite to an event on EU-China Women Entrepreneurship on September 11, 2018.

Boosting employment and entrepreneurship of (young) women was one of the main issues discussed by the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), the European Women Lobby (EWL) and several Chinese experts at the 4th Round of the EU-China High Level People to People Dialogue.

The visit to Brussels of a delegation of six representatives of the Shanghai Women Federation (the biggest chapter of ACWF) – led by the Vice Chairperson Mrs. Wang Jianzhan – will be the occasion to discuss the developments of women’s entrepreneurship in China and to discover the activities of China’s largest women’s organization.

The framework for supporting women entrepreneurship in China and the EU will be presented as well some grassroots initiatives supported by the Women’s Federation in China. Chinese and European CEOs will introduce their experience as female entrepreneurs, sharing their insights on challenges and needs for promoting women’s entrepreneurship.

The event will be joined by Mrs. Nona Deprez, Head of Unit FPI.4 – Partnership Instrument, Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI- European Commission service); Mrs. Rosanna Terminio, Chair of the HR Working Group European Chamber of Commerce in China; Loubna Azghoud, COO Women in Business – Women in Tech.Brussels; Maria Ludovica Bottarelli Tranquilli-Leali, Italian Coordination for the EWL.
