Coronavirus: Updates on the situation in Belgium

News

Following some phone calls and emails raising the concern of contamination by the Chinese Coronavirus during our Chinese New Year’s Reception of February 5, 2020 in Brussels, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC) would like to first reasure all of its members and contacts.

Following the latest statement of the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment of Jan. 24, 2020, ‘there is no need to worry about this new virus [in Belgium] right now’, though the development of the situation is being analyzed daily by the federal authorities. Hence, no specific safety measures are being put into place at the Chinese New Year’s Reception next week Wednesday.

More information about the Coronavirus and the situation in Belgium can be found on the website of the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment.
